Lake Bunyonyi

This is the deepest lake in Uganda and second deepest lake in Africa, the word Bunyonyi derives its name originally known as the place of “little birds” the lake is located in Kabale District known as the Switzerland of Uganda. Due to the nature of landscape which is hilly that forms beautiful scenery.

Lake Bunyonyi is surrounded by very many hills which provide magnificent beautiful scenery, and a shelter for many bird species, over 200 species have been recorded. Therefore bird watching, Sport fishing, swimming, boat rides and sight seeing activities are the most common.

The lake has got over 34 islands that make Lake Bunyonyi to be very unique and beautiful scenery which is admirable.  Bushara Island is the largest island, with various species of trees and bids.
