The source of the Nile

This is located in Jinja District a place where the river Nile starts flowing from Lake Victoria. This is the longest river in Africa, this mighty river Nile starts flowing from Uganda through Sudan up to Egypt - Mediterranean Sea. The Nile and its source is a tourist attraction because it was discovered by John Speke in 1862 when he named it the source of the mighty river Nile.

The desire to uncover this geographical Holy Grain inspired the epic journeys of exploration undertaken by John Hanning Speke. Flanked to day by the city of Jinja, the waterfalls described by Speke now lies submerged beneath the Owen Falls Dam, Uganda’s main source of hydro- electric power. Still a visit to the source of the Nile remains a moving and wondrous experience, no less so to those who have seen the same river as it flows past the ancient Egyptian temples of luxor some 6000km down stream. Activities include Boat rides and sport fishing, and sight seeing on the beautiful scenery.

Bujagali falls on the Nile
The Bujagali falls are found on the River Nile, the falls are as a result of a series of large rapids that split the flow of the Victoria Nile. These falls roars as the real mighty Victoria Nile. Activities like the white water rafting, Kayaking and, Bujjagali divers/ swimmers by the local people are carried out. As the Nile continues to flow northwards is Karuma Falls and Murchison Falls.
