SAFARI TO QUEEN ELIZABETH: 3 DAYS

Highlights: Game drive, launch cruise.

In the south western part of Uganda lies the lush savannah of queen Elizabeth National park - the albertine rift valley.

Queen Elizabeth boasts one of the highest biodiversity ratings of any game park or reserve in the world; from the open Savannah to Rain Forest, dense Papyrus Swamps and brooding Crater lakes to the vastness of Lake Edward.  Almost 100 mammal species that include Lions, Hippos, Buffaloes, Leopard, Spotted Hyena, Elephants and the elusive Giant Forest Hog plus remarkable 606 bird species that include the Black Chested Eagle, the Swallow Tailed Bee Eaters, to mention but a few.  All these are regularly sighted around the tourist village on the Mweya Peninsula and all this make it a superb safari territory.

Day-1
After breakfast travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park, a brief stop at the equator and have an experience of your weight changes at both hemispheres. Drive through Mbarara; the biggest town in western Uganda astride a beautiful hilly land scape. Arrive at Mweya Safari Lodge in time for lunch and relaxation. After lunch break go for the launch cruise on kazinga channel. Along the channel, expect to see various species of water birds such as; the Great white and pink-backed pelican, common squacco heron, African open-billed stock, African fish eagle, black crake, African Jacana and the Egyptian goose. You will also be able to see Hippos, crocodiles, buffalos and Elephants as they quench their thirst. Drive back to the park, have Dinner and overnight (F/B).

Day-2
Take an early morning game drive, with a thrilling enthusiasm to view Lions, warthogs, Kobs, Buffaloes and Elephants. Return to the lodge for lunch. There after, take a launch cruise along the Kazinga channel and you will be able to cross the two lakes of Edward and George. A variety of wildlife is again found here and you will be awakened to see Giant Crocodiles basking in the sun and the Hippos. Dinner and overnight F/B

Day-3
After break fast in the morning, drive back to Kampala, with a short forest walk in Maramagambo forest and witness some of its various bird species, such as the Rwenzori turaco, visit the African rock python, the bat cave and the blue Crater Lake. You have a chance to see other primates such as baboons, and monkeys, continue to Kampala with lunch en route and arrive late afternoon.
